2022 was a massive year for MCO Events – our team grew, and we had the privilege of working with various talents, creatives and visionaries to achieve new heights and goals. Thank you to our clients for making our favourite moments from this year possible and for being a part of our incredible community that keeps growing.
Before we jump into 2023, let’s take a look back at the most memorable moments of this year and see what we achieved together:
Ego Expo
This is one event we love hosting annually. It was and continues to be the hub for Australia’s largest streetwear, lifestyle brands, and culture, all under one roof. The pop-culture summer event features everything from fashion, music, art, basketball, industry talks, tattoos, barbers and more. We can’t wait to challenge our own limits and achieve even greater levels with this expo – keep your eyes peeled!
MCO Events handles council permits, venue sourcing, meetings, budgets, stage schedules, entertainment, sponsorships, partnerships and other event management tasks.
Ecogen Technologies Launch Event
EcoGen Technologies is a sustainable crypto-farming business. MCO Events helped host the launch of this venture at Flinders 524. Investors, crypto enthusiasts, high net-worth individuals, family offices, venture capitalists, investment brokers, family, and friends, came together with the directors and founding members for a night of green-tech conversations.
MCO worked on a comprehensive marketing strategy, professional communication with media and a curated guest list, event run sheet, creation of direct email invitations leading up to the event and a follow-up email to thank attendees, venue sourcing, site visits, event styling, catering and a Post-event report for the client. Collective Original Birthday
Samuel Morison, the founder of the Collective Original, created the label to represent individuals passionate about self-expression. To mark its first anniversary in business, Collective Original hosted a 3-stage runway show with fellow emerging Melbourne designers.
The Throwback Lounge
This pop-up cereal bar was set up at The District Docklands for August. The custom cereal bar featured over 30+ cereals from all over the world. The lounge also had live PlayStation games, WII and Nintendo Switch, iconic arcade games and additional entertainment days filled with dance crew showcases; sneakers, paint ‘n’ sip sessions and live music events.
MCO took on this project from conception to reality. Check out the highlights of this incredible activation here:
Ego Retail Pop-Up
The ‘Winter Retail Pop-Up’ was set-up in the heart of The District Docklands precinct, across from the innovative 90’s Throwback Lounge we hosted for all four weekends in August.
This collaboration created a space for entrepreneurs, small businesses and local brands to elevate and find opportunities amongst each other.
It was the perfect chance to showcase new trends and winter stock, learn about supply chain visibility, improve merchandise availability, and deliver excellent customer shopping experiences.
Mindfull Aus Charity Gala
Mindfull Aus had its annual charity gala at the Plaza Ballroom to help raise funds and awareness for mental health.
Clifton Formwork 25th Anniversary
With a tight turnaround time, Clifton Formwork approached MCO Events with the task of helping host its 25th anniversary in the industry. Held at PJ O’briens on the Yarra River.
Never Say Neverland (Perth)
Never Say Neverland was Australia’s first charitable kids festival with the nation’s most loved kids’ entertainment characters, such as ABC Network’s Bluey and Bingo and Nickelodeon star’s PAW Patrol and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The team at MCO Events flew out to Perth for this event to take care of bump-in/out and on-site management, as well as to assist in council regulations and approvals, waste management, contractor communication, comprehensive marketing strategy, event run sheet, site maps and event briefs, plus a review of existing risk management plans, grant writing, volunteer schedules, and weekly catch-ups. This is one we are most proud of!
Y-suites Event Launch
To celebrate the launch of a Y-suites and Draper Startup House collaboration. Hosted at the student housing building on A’Beckett.

It is a day filled with live entertainment, dog awards, market stalls, and delicious food trucks to raise funds for disadvantaged dogs.
